Don Perriman at the Asian Paralympic Games

December 2010

Don Perriman, our senior sports physiotherapist at the Mt Waverley clinic has just returned from Guangzhou, China – where he attended the Asian Paralympic Games. The Asian Paralympic Games are the largest event for athletes with a disability outside of the regular Paralympic Games.

Don attended in his position of President of classification for wheelchair basketball and was responsible for overseeing the classification of all wheelchair basket ballers participating at the games. With at least 12 teams taking part this involved assessing more than 120 athletes over the first 2 days, then watching them in competition for the next few days to ensure the correct classification has been assigned.

Don has been involved with wheelchair basketball for over 30 years, and is regarded as a world expert in the classification of players, regularly being invited to attend tournaments throughout the world to act in his capacity of Chief classifier.

Meet our Newsletter hamper winners

December 2010

Two lucky ProActive clients were delighted to win the hamper prizes for correctly answering the quiz question in the most recent edition of the ProActive Physiotherapy enewsletter.

The Caulfield Clinic winner is Adrian Goldberg, pictured here receiving his prize from physio Tim. Adrian told us he never wins anything, and proudly took the hamper home to surprise his family.

The Mt Waverley Clinic winners are Helene and Daniel Kelly, pictured (left) with Practice Principal Bernie Simai. The hamper prize came at a great time for Helene and Daniel as they await the birth of their first child around Christmas.
